Our facilities
Courses
Our courses use dedicated facilities within the Wellcome Sanger Institute, on the Wellcome Genome Campus. We have a fully-equipped training laboratory as well as dedicated IT teaching facilities for data analysis and bioinformatics training. We also collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to provide participants with access to the very latest specialist equipment and reagents for each laboratory course.
Courses focus on hands-on, practical training as part of an intensive and interactive residential format. The number of participants on each course is kept low (typically 16-18 for laboratory courses and 20-30 for computational courses) to ensure that participants fully benefit from close supervision and interaction with the instructors (and each other).
Conferences
Our conferences are hosted in Hinxton Hall Conference Centre and online. The Conference Centre offers world-class event and meeting spaces designed for knowledge sharing in the scientific research community. Set in the tranquil grounds of the Wellcome Genome Campus, the venue boasts stunning contemporary architecture combined with heritage features. There are flexible meeting rooms for up to 300 people, including a tiered auditorium, which are complemented by extensive modern accommodation, and a food and drink offer driven by quality and sustainability.
